Mourning the orangutans
I am saddened to hear that the forests of Borneo are still burning, covering the region in a cloud of smog and reducing our precious tropical rainforest. I am sceptical about how much of the forest fires are accidental given the many vested interests in land clearing in that part of the world.
I am even more saddened that one thousand orangutans are believed dead as a result. These orange men of the forest are such beautiful creatures, but there is increasingly little space for them in the world of humans.
Yes, I know I haven’t written about my own life for over a week. I’ve been busy.
